Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charges are very serious and carry consequences above and beyond a criminal record. Being convicted as a drunk driver often means having to report the conviction on housing applications, job applications, and may lead to increased insurance premiums. Do not go it alone in court without a lawyer. You may unknowingly agree to a deal or plead guilty without understanding the full extent of the consequences. It is critical to be represented by a criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible after being arrested or charged with drunk driving. Please contact us for experienced representation with your DWI case.
At Dees Law Office we work with people charged with drunk driving and help them defend against the criminal charges , as well as, assisting with the civil components of DUI including license suspension and revocation. In Illinois, there are two types of civil driver`s license issues: (1) statutory summary suspension that occurs right after the DUI charge; and (2) longer suspension or revocation that may occur depending on the severity of the DUI, whether it`s the first offense, or a repeat offense.
Criminal defense attorney, Brian J. Dees, has been practicing law in Illinois since 1989. He is a former Assistant State Prosecutor for Sangamon County. He has extensive experience working on criminal cases at both the misdemeanor and felony levels. He has gained valuable knowledge through his time as a prosecutor and has the ability to understand how the prosecution may approach your case.
The most important aspect of criminal cases is for our clients to understand what they are being charged with, the criminal court process, and the likely outcome of their case. We take the time to break down the law for our clients and want our clients to come to their own conclusions about how they want to proceed with their defense.
